Applying perfume correctly
1. Choose the right perfume: Make sure to choose a perfume that suits your personal style and occasion. There are different types of scents, such as floral, spicy, fresh, woody, etc. Choose the perfume that you like the most.
2. Preparation: Perfume adheres better to clean and hydrated skin. Before applying perfume, shower and use a fragrance-free lotion to moisturize your skin.
3. Apply perfume to pulse points: The best places to apply perfume are the so-called pulse points, where the skin is warmer. These places are usually the wrist, the inside of the elbows, the neck, behind the ears and the back of the knees. Applying perfume to these places allows for a long-lasting fragrance release.
4. Spray from the right distance: Hold the perfume bottle about 15-20 cm from your skin. Do not spray too close as this may cause overdose.
5. Use small amounts: Less is often more when it comes to perfume. Avoid applying too much perfume at once as this can be overwhelming. One or two spritzes are usually enough.
6. Do not rub the perfume: After applying the perfume, do not rub it on the skin. Rubbing can destroy the fragrance molecules and alter the scent.
7. Allow to dry slowly: Allow the perfume to dry on your skin before putting on clothes to avoid stains.
8. Consider the season: Perfume can be perceived more or less intensely depending on the season. You may find that you use less in the warmer months as the heat can increase the intensity of the scent.
9. Be careful with after-scents: As the scent fades throughout the day, you can re-scent as needed, but be careful not to apply too much at once.
10. Be considerate of others: Remember that not everyone likes or tolerates the smell of perfume. Avoid wearing too much perfume in enclosed spaces or in situations where it might be disturbing.
The art of applying perfume requires a certain degree of sensitivity, and it may take some time to figure out the right amount and the best spots for your individual preferences.
